Welcome
It is my very great pleasure to invite you to join us in Hobart for the 15th Alzheimer’s Australia National Conference in May 2013.
This will be a conference with a difference and your involvement in the conference begins today.
The theme for the 15th national conference is The Tiles of Life, Colouring the Future.
It is about making memories when the very thing that brings us together is memory loss.
Today you will see memories created on ceramic tiles, colourful, moving, personal reflections of what Alzheimer’s and dementia means to the artists.
Over the next two years we will be asking people living and working with dementia to contribute to the making of a memory. Tiles and paints will be distributed to Alzheimer’s Associations right across the Nation where we hope the meaning of Alzheimer’s to each and every person will be captured forever.
In 2013 you will see the finished product, a surprise, and what we hope will be an inspirational and lasting memory of the Hobart Alzheimer’s Conference.
Hobart in May will be sparkling, a little nip in the air but clear crisp days. The conference venue affords views across Mount Wellington and the Derwent River and we can’t wait to welcome you to our beautiful state.
The Tiles of life, Colouring the Future …. pave your way to Hobart in May 2013.
